Lieutenant Governor Hosemann is committed to serving the public with open and fair government. Since he was elected, he has worked to enact the largest tax cut in the State’s history, provide teachers with a competitive salary, support law enforcement to ensure safe communities, and make Mississippi more business-friendly and attractive for economic development. Lieutenant Governor Hosemann is not a lifelong politician. His career in the private sector has made him a proven and effective leader uniquely qualified to move the State forward.

For years, we have worked on legislation to completely reform Mississippi’s youth court system to better serve our state’s children and standardize the judicial process. We passed a solution that fixes the system by adding full-time youth court chancellors, increases transparency and accountability, funds diversion programs and improves our detention centers.
I appreciate all of our Senators for returning to the Capitol on short notice for this special session and devoting thorough attention to reviewing and voting in the best interest of our state’s youth.

What a pleasure it was to attend such a joy-filled night at Mississippi District UPCI. Nights like these are a great reminder of the faith and fellowship that strengthen Mississippi, and I enjoyed the opportunity to share about the power of prayer.

Our soybean farmers have faced real challenges in today’s agricultural economy. I’m encouraged to see the Mississippi Soybean Promotion Board voting to collaborate with Mississippi State University to explore innovative uses for soybeans, including their potential use in asphalt production.
In an ever-changing economy, we should continue exploring every opportunity to create new markets and utilization to support our farmers.
